Attaching the Viewfinder to the Camera
Attach the viewfinder to the panning base mounting plate
on the top of the camera (see figure below).
• Before attaching the viewfinder to or removing it from
the camera, always be sure to lock the viewfinder in the
standard position.
• Before removing the viewfinder from the camera, be
sure to lock the tilt lock of the tripod and grasp the
viewfinder firmly. Be careful not to drop the viewfinder
or the camera.

Turn the panning base mounting plate of the camera
fully to the right as illustrated in the above figure.

Insert the mounting wedge at the back of the
viewfinder’s panning base into the V-shaped recess of
the camera’s panning base mounting plate. At the
same time, place the viewfinder on the panning base
mounting plate such that the projections at the back of
the panning base go into the positions indicated in the
figure.

Press the base portion and insert the viewfinder fully
into the panning base mounting plate.
Pull the handle and check to ensure that the
viewfinder is securely locked.

Turn the viewfinder to a random position.
Make sure that the viewfinder is securely locked. If the
viewfinder is not properly attached to the camera, it may
drop and cause injuries.
To remove the viewfinder
Pay attention to the following four points before removing
the viewfinder.
• The viewfinder is restored to its standard position.
• The slide-lock lever is locked towards the back of the
camera.
• The tilt-lock knob is locked in the LOCK position.
• The lift-lock release knob is locked in the LOCK
position.
