To remove the “WALKMAN” or the
USB device from the unit

Press WM-PORT/USB to select the
WM-PORT/USB function.

appears in the display.

Remove the “WALKMAN” or the USB
device from the unit.
To select the destination memory on
a USB device for transferring
For some USB devices, you may have to select
the memory (for example, the internal memory
or a memory card) to which the audio data is to
be transferred. In this case, select the memory as
follows.
For details on which USB devices are compatible,
see page 78.

Press WM-PORT/USB to select the
WM-PORT/USB function and connect
the USB device to the (USB) port.
If a “WALKMAN” is connected to the WM-
PORT, disconnect it.

“WALKMAN” or a USB device” (page
29).
Tip
If you transfer a track that has ID3 tag information to a
“WALKMAN”, the ID3 tag information will appear as the
title on the “WALKMAN”. If you encounter incorrect ID3
tag information, do one of the following operations to
update the information, and then transfer the audio data
to the “WALKMAN”.
Use the “Title Updater” software to update the title
information (page 49).
Record the audio CD to the HDD again. At the time
you insert the CD, the “Title Data Searching” results
will be displayed (page 35). Select “No Match”, and then
record the CD to the HDD. After you have finished
recording, use the name editing function to add titles
(page 52).
If a track has no ID3 tag information, track name and
album name appears as the title on the “WALKMAN”.
Notes
Make sure that you do not disconnect the
“WALKMAN” or the USB device during transfer. If you
do, the data in the “WALKMAN” or the USB device
may be damaged.
When connecting a “WALKMAN” or a USB device to
the (USB) port, make sure not to connect the unit
and the “WALKMAN” or the USB device through a
USB hub.
