3-4-2. NTP Setting
The HNF System can be set to use NTP (Network Time
Protocol) server for time synchronization.
Select [System]
→
[NTP Configuration].
Check the box of “NTP enable” for time synchronization.
Input the IP address of the NTP Server
Click “configure NTP” button to start.

Do not use the “setup” command on the Linux to change
the time settings.
3-4-3. Cache Server Time Settings
Between the Cache Server and Main Server time and date
are automatically synchronized, however, the initial time
difference must be less than 1000 seconds.
When time difference is more then 1000 seconds, set the
Cache Server time as follows.
# date MMDDhhmmYY
Example 2004/03/07 15:12
# date 0307151204

Do not change the Timezone on the Caches Server(s).
When using the “date” command, use GMT (Greenwich
Mean Time) conversion and set the date and time.
3-5. Volume Registration
3-5-1. Start-up
Verify the hardware (main server, cache server, and tape
(AIT/SAIT) library) conditions are in GOOD status.
Select [Maintenance]
→
[Monitor] icon to access the
configuration menu.
If the system condition is not in “GOOD” and the status is
shown in red, restart the PetaServe service by the follow-
ing steps.
1. Select [Service]
→
[Start/Stop of PetaServe] icon and
the following window will appear.
