in On-line mode
Error Possible
reason
Solution
No on-line
signal seen on
the PC.
•
No connection between
the recorder and the PC.
•
Wrong
serial interface
on the PC chosen.
•
Check the connections
of the fiber
optical adaptor and check the cable.
•
Change the
serial port
from COM 2 to
COM 1 or vice versa using the ‘Options’
menu.
The EEG
signal has a
high noise
level (QUISI
is constantly
beeping in 10
sec epochs).
•
The one-way electrode
is loose or has removed
from the forehead.
•
There are electrical
devices nearby (50Hz
effect)
•
High muscle tension of
the patient.
•
The active electrode
connector is defect.
•
Clean the forehead
with soap and
attach new electrodes
correctly.
•
Switch off radio clock, TV etc. and
remove the plug from the power socket.
The distance from QUISI to electrical
devices should be at least 2 meters.
•
Lie down with closed eyes and relax.
•
Replace the active electrode
connector.
The EEG
signal is a flat
line.
•
The lead from the active
electrode is not con-
nected to the recorder.
•
Connect the lead from the active
electrode to the recorder.
