1. Introduction
The ilmo 40 WT motor is non-adjustable: a simple connection is all that is required. The ilmo 40 WT
motor programs its end limits automatically.
The ilmo 40 WT motor is designed to drive roller shutters fitted with rigid links and end stops selected
in accordance with the operating conditions described in this guide.
The ilmo 40 WT motor can be mounted either on the right or the left. It can be controlled from a control
point with a fixed position or momentary action-type switch.
The ilmo 40 WT motor is equipped with:
obstacle protection to protect the roller shutter when it is being lowered.

anti-freeze protection to protect the roller shutter when it is being raised.

2.1 General information
Before installing and using the product, please read the installation guide carefully.
This Somfy product must be installed by a professional motorisation and home automation installer,
for whom these instructions are intended.
Never begin installing without first checking the compatibility of this product with the associated
equipment and accessories.
These instructions describe how to install, commission and operate this product.
Moreover, the installer must comply with current standards and legislation in the country in which the
product is being installed, and inform his customers of the operating and maintenance conditions for
the product.
Any usage outside of applications defined by Somfy
constitutes non-compliance, and is therefore not covered
by the guarantee. In this event, as for all usage not
consistent with the instructions given herein, Somfy accepts no
responsibility for harm or damage.
2.2 General safety advice
The safety instructions that must be observed, besides the
usual rules, are explained in these instructions and in the
attached "Safety Instructions" document.
Never immerse the motor in liquid!

Always make a loop in the power supply cable to prevent
