Follow these steps to install a Direct Read Cable assembly to a Levelogger 5:
1) Remove the installation cap from the Levelogger, align the optical socket of the L5 Direct Read Cable
with the Levelogger and threading the coupling onto the Levelogger tightly (while holding the datalogger still). If
using an Adaptor, thread the Adaptor onto the Levelogger first, then thread the Direct Read Cable coupling
onto the Adaptor (while holding the Adaptor still).
Note:
The o-ring on the optical end of the Levelogger should be inspected regularly and replaced as
required. See Section 10.2.
When removing a Direct Read Cable from a Levelogger (or Adaptor), ensure you only twist the coupling.
To avoid possible damage, do not twist the strain relief on the Direct Read Cable.

To ensure a water-tight seal, when connecting a Direct Read Cable or Aaptor, tighten the coupling onto
the Levelogger until there is no green o-ring visible.
2) The Levelogger (and Adaptor) and Direct Read Cable will fit through the hole in the Well Cap insert.
3) The surface connector of the Direct Read Cable will seat in the Well Cap insert.
4) The two plugged holes in the Well Cap can be opened to provide an access port for a Barologger, as well as a
water level meter probe.
