If your engine overheats

Warning
• If your vehicle’s engine is overheated, do not continue
driving. This may cause the vehicle to catch fire.
• Do not open the bonnet if steam is issuing from it.
• When the engine overheats, do not open the radiator
cap. If the water bottle cap is opened while the engine is
overheating, high pressure hot water will be blown out and
may result in burns or serious injury.
• When the engine coolant temperature exceeds a set
tempertaure the cooling fan will start.
• CAUTION do not allow your hands, hair, jewellery or clothing
to touch or fall into the cooling fan or drive belt.
If your vehicle’s engine is too hot (indicated by the engine
coolant thermometer) or if you feel that the engine is not
running normally, unusual noise, etc., take the following
procedures:
1. Park the car in a safe area.
2. Turn on the hazard lights.
3. Put the gearstick in the “N” (neutral) position and switch off
the ignition.
4. Pull up the electronic parking brake.
5. Open all windows.
6. Set the warm air or air-conditioning temperature control
knob to the hottest position and turn the fan control knob to
the highest speed.
7. Leave the car.
8. After the engine has cooled, check the amount of coolant in
the engine coolant reservoir when the engine is running.
Do not open the resevoir cover
.
9. If necessary, add coolant to the water tank.

Warning
To avoid being burned, loosen the engine coolant pressure cap
and cover it with a cloth before slowly releasing it to the first
stage, allowing the steam to escape.
Please check / repair your car at an authorised DFSK service
outlet.
