Start up and driving
Use of brake
Do not rest your foot on the brake pedal while driving. This will
cause the brakes to overheat and the disc brakes to accelerate
wear while reducing fuel economy.
To prevent excessive wear of the disc brakes and to avoid
overheating, lower the vehicle speed before descending a long
slope. Brake overheating can reduce braking performance and
may cause an accident.
Use extreme care when braking, accelerating, or changing gears
on wet roads. Emergency braking and rapid acceleration may
cause the wheels to slip, resulting in an accident.
Driving uphill
When starting uphill the electronic parking brake must be used
to stabilise the vehicle.
Downhill driving
When driving downhill the engine can effectively be used to
control the vehicle speed by limited use or not acceleratoring.
Anti - lock Braking System(ABS)

Warning
• The anti-lock braking system (ABS) is a complex device, but
can not prevent accidents caused by careless or dangerous
driving. Braking distances on rough, gravel, snow-covered
roads or when using snow chains may also be longer and the
car must be kept at a safe distance from the vehicle in front.
In short, the driver must maintain a high degree of safety
awareness.
• Tyre type and condition may also affect the braking effect.

When changing tyres, all wheels must be fitted with tyres of
the specified size.
• When installing the spare tyre, make sure that the size and
model of the spare tyre are the same as those on the tyre
pressure label. Refer to the “Tyre Pressure information” in
section “IX. Technical Information”.

ABS system
Depress the brake pedal with a stable pressure, but do not
depress and release the brake pedal repeatedly. The ABS will
work to prevent the wheels from locking and assist the driver in
maintaining control of the vehicle to avoid the hazard.

Warning
Do not release the pressure on the pedal. Doing so may cause
the braking distance to increase.
