Network cables
The cables marked * utilise
laminated aluminium tape with a
tinned drain wire for electrostatic
screening. Under certain
environmental conditions galvanic
action may take place between
the aluminium and the drain wire.
This will severely degrade EMC
performance as the foil to drain wire
impedance will increase. Armoured
variants of these can also be used
for wiring a loop circuit.
