4.1.8 Environmental Module
The Environmental Module is an accessory that records temperatur
e, humidity and the pressure
of the surrounding of the
PICO
SCALE
. These data in
fl
uence the refractive index of the air. By
tracking the environmental data the position data calculated by the
PICO
SCALE
can be corrected
for the respective
fl
uctuations.
4.2 Data sources
Data sources are the basic data elements that provide data of any digital form over time. Position
of the target mirror, environmental temperature or GP
I
O data are data sources, for example. Data
sources that are related to each other are bundled into a channel.
The values of data sources may be retrieved from the device by streaming or polling them to the
user PC. The user may select a sub set of all available data sources and let the device stream the
values of these data sources over a period of time. An overview of all available data sources is
given in table 4.1.
