Modbus

Problem

Cause and corrective measure

The Cluster Controller cannot be ac-
cessed by the Modbus client.

The required Modbus server is not activated.

Corrective measures:

• Activate the required Modbus server (see

Section 12.1, page 60).

The correct IP address for the Cluster Controller is not set
in the Modbus client.

Corrective measures:

• Read off the IP address of Cluster Controller (see

Section 10.4.1, page 54).

• Ensure that the correct IP address for the

Cluster Controller is set in the Modbus client (see
manual from manufacturer).

The Modbus profile contains mea-
sured values that are not supported by
the SMA device.

The Modbus configuration may be incorrect.

Corrective measures:

• Check the Modbus configuration using the

assignment tables and adjust if required (see the
Technical Description "
"SMA CLUSTER CONTROLLER Modbus® Interface"
").

The Cluster Controller does not re-
spond within the response time speci-
fied by the Modbus client.

The Modbus configuration may be incorrect.

Corrective measures:

• Check the Modbus configuration using the

assignment tables and adjust if required (see the
Technical Description "
"SMA CLUSTER CONTROLLER Modbus® Interface"
").

The Cluster Controller does not trans-
mit a value specified in the Modbus
profile to the devices in the system.

The Modbus configuration may be incorrect.

Corrective measures:

• Check the Modbus configuration using the

assignment tables and adjust if required (see the
Technical Description "
"SMA CLUSTER CONTROLLER Modbus® Interface"
").
