Adjusting riving knife (horizontally and
vertically)
Check that the blade is properly aligned paral-
lel with the miter-gauge slot per instructions in
“Adjusting Blade Parallel to The Miter Gauge
slots” and adjust the blade if necessary. Check
that the rip fence is aligned with the blade (see
instructions in “Aligning Rip Fence”) and adjust
the rip fence if necessary.
1. Raise the saw blade to its full height.
2. Remove the barrier-guard device and the
anti-kickback device from the riving knife.
3. Remove the table insert.
4. From the left of the saw, use a 5mm hex
wrench (not included) to loosen the clamp
screws (1/4-1/2 turns) that hold the mounting bracket (Fig.34).
5. Reposition the riving knife left or right as needed to align the riving knife with the saw
blade.
6. Onc
e properly aligned, securely retighten the clamp screws.
7. Check again for perpend
icularity and continue to adjust as needed.
