Intended use
The SPINEFITTER by SISSEL
®
Linum is a Hot/
Cold pack with natural filling for a drug-free,
needs-based, individual hot or cold therapy.
Warming and cooling treatments use the
reactions of the skin, the subcutis, the mus-
culature and deep tissue layers to the re-
spective temperature stimulus. In heat
therapy these are primarily blood circulation-
enhancing and metabolism-stimulating
effects, in cold therapy heat withdrawal and
pain relief. Thus, the grain pillow is an ideal
way to use heat and cold in a targeted thera-
peutic way on many different occasions.
The SPINEFITTER by SISSEL
®
Linum is parti-
cularly suitable for use on the muscles near
the spine due to its elongated shape. It can be
used individually or in combination with the
SPINEFITTER by SISSEL
®
, on which it can be
securely attached thanks to the side pockets
and the central band.
Application of heat
•
Only heat the cushion in the microwave or
oven.
• Microwave: Make sure that the plate with
the grain pillow can rotate freely in the
microwave and that there is no food residue
in the microwave. Place the grain pillow
folded in the microwave and distribute the
filling evenly if necessary. The actual per-
formance of different microwave brands
varies despite the same power specifica-
tions. We therefore recommend that you try
to find the optimum heating time. You can
use the following information as a guide:
- 600 Watt: 2 minutes
- 1000 Watt: 60-90 seconds
Remove the grain pillow from the micro-
wave and check the temperature. If further
heating is required, shake the product and
heat it again for 20 seconds. Then check the
temperature again and heat further if
necessary until the desired temperature
is reached.
• Oven: Preheat the oven to 70°C (top and
bottom heat or convection). Place the grain
pillow folded flat on a clean rack, if neces-
sary with baking paper and place in the
oven for 4 to 6 minutes on the middle shelf.
Carefully remove the grain pillow from the
oven and check the temperature. If further
heating is desired, shake the product and
heat it again for 1 to 2 minutes. Then check
the temperature again and heat further if
necessary until the desired temperature
is reached. Place the grain pillow on the
affected area with a thin cotton cloth or
your clothing as an intermediate layer.
Optional: Attach the grain cushion to the
SPINEFITTER as shown and lie down on it.
