WARNING
– Any intervention or work performed on the solar wa-
ter heater must be carried out exclusively by special-
ised technicians and, if there are electrical compo-
nents, solely by qualified and authorised electricians.
– All data relative to the solar water heater mainte-
nance must be entered into the relevant table on the
warranty document (warranty validity).
– In regions subject to extreme weather conditions
(hail storms, downpours, tornadoes, etc.) we recom-
mend insuring the system.
5.2
Post-installation instructions
Carry out a final check on the system before using it:
– Open all the valves and check that there are no leakages of
any type.
– Repeat the inspection after 30 minutes.
– Check that the system has been filled with water and an-
ti-freeze fluid according to the company’s instructions.
– In case of a fault, it is necessary to contact a specialised tech-
nician.
The solar panel requires almost 2 days, after it has been in-
stalled, to achieve its maximum performance.
For this reason, we recommend avoiding the consumption of hot
water during the first two days after installation if there are fa-
vourable conditions of sunlight.
5.2.1
Periodic checks
Basic periodic maintenance ensures long-lasting operation and
maximum performance of the system.
We recommend checking the system twice a year at the point of
installation and checking that there are no damages (breakages)
on the glass covering the collectors or leakages from the pipes
connecting the system to the water supply and the withdrawal
points, that the pipes are insulated and that the glass panels are
clean.
If the collector’s glass is broken, it must be replaced.
We recommend washing the glass panels under low sunlight
conditions to avoid contractions and expansions due to tempera-
ture fluctuations.
If the components are worn (screws, wall plugs, pipes, etc.), they
must be replaced at the customer’s expense.
5.2.2
Annual checks
Annually check the refrigerant liquid in the closed circuit (wheth-
er it needs topping up) to ensure that the system works effec-
tively.
When hot water will not be used for extended periods of time (for
example during the summer holidays), we recommend covering
the surface of the collector to avoid excessively high tempera-
tures from forming as they could cause the thermostat’s thermo-
electric protection device to intervene and interrupt the electrical
circuit.
a
WARNING
It is recommended that the water storage tank is clea-
ned of mineral deposits and sludge every five(5) years.
5.2.3
Resetting the thermoelectric switch (B)
In case of high pressure in the calorifier, the safety valve could
intervene by letting water out.
This is normal and is designed to protect the system against
overpressure.
If the water supply network pressure exceeds 4 atm, a pressure
reducer-expansion vessel must be fitted.
d
IT IS FORBIDDEN
To activate the heating element in the following cases:
– if the water supply is interrupted;
– when the pipes have frozen up and no water is flow-
ing from the system to the taps.
a
WARNING
Taps with thermostatic adjustment up to 38°C must be
mounted on the hot water withdrawal points, so as to
avoid burns due to the high temperatures of the water
in the solar panel.
