Radio transmission: rated power of 10mW – frequency about 433MHz – free use under terms of the law. Radio capacity: 50m in free field and with absolutely no
background noise on the band – adverse effects in interiors can be caused by the appliances’ position in relation to the structure of the building and /or by radio
disturbance on the band. You should ensure radio capacity is sufficient before definitive installation.

Operation
: connect 4 potential-free contacts to the 4 inputs on the device. Closing an input’s contact makes the device transmit the associated command. The
commands that can be transmitted via the 4 inputs, described in the Technical Specifications, determine the receivers’ operation, as described below:
Programming
1) How to program the 5555 transmitter with the 5542 receiver:
- Put the 5542 receiver in programming mode.
- Press both the outer buttons connected to inputs 1 and 2.
The button connected to input 1 serves to lower the conveyor which will continue to operate as long as the button is pressed; the conveyor stops when the button is
released. The button connected to input 2 serves to raise the conveyor which will continue to operate as long as the button is pressed; the conveyor stops when the
button is released (manual on/off command).
How to send a timed command to the conveyor motor:
- Put the 5542 receiver in programming mode and select the raising/lowering time using the button on the same receiver;
- Press the buttons on inputs 3 and 4 at the same time.
The button connected to input 3 serves to lower the conveyor which will operate for the configured time (to stop the conveyor any earlier, press again the button
connected to input 3), while the button connected to input 4 serves to raise the conveyor which will operate for the configured time (to stop the conveyor any earlier,
press again the button connected to input 4).
2) How to program the 5555 transmitter with the 5541 receiver:
- Put the 5541 receiver in programming mode
- Press and hold the button connected to input 1 for 10 seconds.
The button connected to input 1 commands the relay of the 5541 receiver in on/off mode (manual control), so the contact of the receiver’s output relay remains
closed for as long as the button connected to input 1 is pressed. Repeat the same procedure for input 2.
How to transmit a toggle or timed command to the 5541 receiver:
- Put the receiver in programming mode and select toggle operation (PROG 1) or timed operation (PROG 2-5) by pressing the button on the same receiver.
- Press and hold the button connected to input 3 for 10 seconds.
The button connected to input 3 controls the relay of the 5541 receiver in toggle or timed mode as programmed.
Repeat the same procedure for input 4.
5542 RADIO-RECEIVER FOR CONVEYOR MOTOR
This is a radio-receiver for conveyor or curtain motor. It features two interlocked output contacts – one for the raising command and another for the lowering
command. It communicates with 5555 transmitter and all Silentron transmitting devices (remote controls, keypads, detectors and control units).

Contact capacity: max 3A to 230Vca – Warning: use an additional relay in the case of higher requirements
Operation:
the device’s operation depends on the radio signal received, as indicated in the table.
The various programming steps (1-2-3-4), as indicated in the “Programming” section, determine the command’s implementation time. The timer can be set at: 20
seconds; 40 seconds; 1 minute; 2 minutes.
Programming : :
pressing the switch on the device for 1 second and then releasing it opens PROG 1; the LED’s light remains steady to confirm this and the relay
output is disabled, if previously enabled. A total of 64 peripheral devices can be programmed on each receiver: if they are of different types, the various functions are
in OR. Programming is confirmed by the LED switching off for 2 seconds; and the LED flashes quickly for 1 second if you attempt to program an existing code. Each
programming phase times out automatically after 20 seconds.
