Signet 2537 Flowmeter
Location of Fitting
Recommended sensor upstream/downstream mounting
requirements
Sensor Mounting Position
•
Horizontal pipe runs: Mount sensor in the upright (0°) position for best performance. Mount at a
maximum of 45° when air bubbles are present (pipe must be full). Do not mount on the bottom of
the pipe when sediments are present.
•
Vertical pipe runs: Mount sensor in any orientation, however, downward
fl
ow is not recomended.
Upward
fl
ow is preferred to ensure full pipe.

Vertical flow is OK IF the pipe remains full at all times.
Select a location with suf
fi
cient length of straight
pipe immediately upstream of the sensor.
Locating the sensor in a trap or where the
fl
ow is
upward helps to protect the sensor from exposure
to air bubbles when the system is in operation.
These con
fi
gurations are not recommended because
it is dif
fi
cult to keep the pipe full.
Installation: Pipe fi ttings
George Fischer Signet offers a wide selection of installation
fi
ttings that control the position of the paddlewheel in relation to the
dimensions of the pipe.
