A loading dose icon (syringe) is displayed next to the “Primary or Secondary Bag” line on a
completed setup screen.

After all infusion values are entered, a loading dose dialog box displays:“Do you want to
deliver a Loading Dose from the PRIMARY (or SECONDARY) bag? (

If you select

, the loading dose setup screen displays.

Enter all required data, and press
OK
after each entry.
7.
Press
RUN
to start the delivery of the loading dose.

Check for flow and confirm that all clamps are open, there are no kinks in tubing, and
drops are flowing. If everything is flowing properly, push the
YES
softkey.
At the completion of the loading dose, transition to the primary infusion rate is automatic.
Programming a Bolus
This feature is only available when using software versions 6.01.00 and later.
A Bolus is a large IV dose of a drug given all at once at the start of treatment, which raises the con-
centration in the body to a therapeutic level.

Can be delivered in Basic mode or in DEP Mode (through the Master Drug Library).
■
Amount, time and limits are assigned to drugs in the MDL.
■
Can be programmed while the pump is stopped or while infusing
To program a Bolus:
1.
Press the
BOLUS
softkey. The bolus setup screen appears.
2.
Enter all required data, and press
OK
after each entry.
3.
Press
RUN
to start bolus delivery.
At the completion of the bolus, transition to the primary infusion rate is automatic.
