APPENDIX H - AMOUNT / T IME
Drug Amount / Time Infusion
This feature is only available when using MDL version 6.3.0 and later (not available in Basic or
Multi-Step delivery modes).
Follow all set up, set loading/unloading and operation instructions in this manual.
To program a Drug Amount/Time Infusion:
1.
Select Care Area. Press
OK
.
2.
Type the drugs first two letters. all drugs beginning with those two letters will appear.
Scroll to the desired drug. Press
OK
.

Use up and down arrow keys to select primary, secondary. If selected in the MDL, the
required delivery mode will automatically display on the programming set up screen.

As selected in the MDL, one of the following set up screens will appear.
4.1
Fixed drug amount
- example: 500mg/100mL. These parameters may not be changed at
the pump and represents the entire dose.
4.1.1Select and confirm concentration if more than one is displayed.
4.1.2Enter patient weight (kg) or BSA if required.
4.1.3Enter duration of infusion. Press OK.
4.1.4Dose (if weight based) is displayed.
4.1.5Infusion rate mL/hr is calculated and displayed.
4.1.6Press RUN to start the infusion.
4.1.7Check the flow and confirm that all clamps are open, there are no kinks in tubing,
and drops are flowing. If everything is flowing properly, press the YES softkey.
4.1.8Press REVIEW softkey to display infusion status.
4.1.9Press STOP and REVIEW soft key to change mL/hr.
4.2
Standard concentration - drug amount/mL
- example: 10mg/mL as entered in the MDL.
Infusion values are entered on the programming set up screen by the operator. The stan-
dard concentration may not be changed at the pump.
4.2.1Select and confirm drug amount per mL standard concentration if more than one is
displayed.
4.2.2Enter drug amount. Press OK.
4.2.3VTBI is automatically calculated and displayed.
4.2.4Enter patient weight (kg) or BSA if required. Press OK.
4.2.5Enter duration of infusion. Press OK.
4.2.6Dose (if weight based) is displayed.
4.2.7Infusion rate mL/hr is calculated and displayed.
4.2.8Press
RUN
to start the infusion.
