5.2 Installing the compact installation unit

8. With more than three support points:
–
Check whether all bracket plates are in contact with the top plates.
– Eliminate any differences in height and unevenness of the associated bracket by
inserting compensation plates (see Table 9-3 Ordering data of compensation plates
(Page 54)).
Note
Do not drag a gap or warped bracket plate with the bolted connections against the base
or top plate. This could result in the fixing of the top plate becoming overloaded,
whereupon some of the top nuts underneath the top plates cannot be loosened.
Make sure that the base and top plates are not concave in the center.
9. Tighten the bolted connections of the compact installation units.
Note
Tighten the screws with the torque corresponding to the strength category.
The minimum requirements apply if guide elements are fitted:
60 kg to 280 kg 0.5 t/1 t 2 t to 5 t 10 t to 13 t
Thread M8 M10 M10 M12

Tightening torque 15.2 Nm 30 Nm 30 Nm 52 Nm
Note
Four or more support points
If four or more support points are used, it cannot be guaranteed that all compact installation
units are loaded equally. When tightening unloaded compact installation units, the top nuts
underneath the top plates are additionally pretensioned by loaded compact installation units.
This could result in these nuts been jammed so tightly that they cannot be loosened in the
following steps.
In such cases, first slightly loosen the top plates of the load-bearing compact installation
units before tightening the unloaded compact installation units.
The load bearing implement of the scale is in the following condition:
● The compact installation units are in the installation state.
● The top hexagon nuts of the countersunk head screws clamp the top plate against the
heads of the countersunk head screws.
● A distance with the magnitude of the preset excess length exists between the pressure
piece and pendulum support.
● There is no load on the load cells.
● The compact installation units are aligned to one another as much as possible.
