9.4 Siemens Security Advisories via CERT
Inform yourself about the Siemens Security Advisories from Siemens CERT ( https://
www.siemens.com/global/en/home/products/services/cert.html ). Check the specific
advisories for each connectivity module component (Page 13). Promptly implement the
product-relevant security advisories of the components or the connectivity module.

security advisories.
9.5 Replacing connectivity module components
A defective connectivity module can be replaced. When replacing components, also observe
the appropriate Operating Instructions of the various components (Page 15).
Delete all data on defective components. The relevant instructions can be found in Chapter
Deleting the data of the connectivity module (Page 44).
For backing up and restoring software components, carefully comply with the instructions in
Chapter Updating, backing up and restoring software components (Page 41).
Note
When carrying out any work, carefully observe the five safety rules (Page 8).
Replacement parts
You can order the individual connectivity module components as replacement part (Page 47).
Replacing the IPC
1. Note the connection assignment of the IPC.
2. Comply with the instructions for removing and mounting in the Operating Instructions of the
IPC (Page 15).
3. Connect the cable according to the documented connection assignment.
Replacing SCALANCE switches
1. Note the connection assignment of the switch.
2. Comply with the instructions for removing and mounting in the Operating Instructions of the
SCALANCE switch (Page 15).
3. Connect the cable according to the documented connection assignment.
