4.1 Transportation and storage
NOTICE
Damage to the connectivity module as a result of external effects
The connectivity module is installed in the factory in the converter cabinet. When transporting,
storing and operating the converter, the connectivity module can be damaged as a result of
external effects.
Take special care not to damage the connectivity module when transporting, storing and
operating the converter. It is not permissible that the connectivity module is subject to
mechanical stress or loads.
4.2 Prerequisites
Protective system of the overall system
The protection measures for the connectivity module and the SIDRIVE IQ applications do not
replace the protection system of the overall system itself.
Local service PC
For commissioning, you require a local service PC running the Windows 10 operating system.
The local service PC must support the Microsoft Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) in order to
remotely access the IPC.
Only connect the local service PC physically and directly to the connectivity module (point-to-
point Ethernet cable). Protect your local service PC against unauthorized access. Under no
circumstance weaken the hardening measures of the connectivity module.

LAN connection in the company network with Internet access
Carefully ensure that the LAN connection is established according to Siemens industry
standards. Additional information is provided in the Configuration Manual SINAMICS Industrial
Security ( https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/109751848 ) for medium-
voltage converters.
Port 443 must be enabled in your company network for HTTPS communication to SIDRIVE IQ.
Minimum transmission rate of the LAN connection: 10 Mbit/s for one converter.
