●
Priority
The "Priority" column shows the value of the priority.
If the path calculated by spanning tree is possible over several ports of a switch, the port
with the highest priority (in other words the lowest value for the priority) is selected.
A value from 0 to 255 can be entered for the priority. The default value is 128.
●
Admin Path Cost
The "Admin Path Cost " column, shows the value for the path costs to be used.
●
Calc Path Cost
If the value for Admin Path Cost is > 0, this value is adopted as Calculated Path Cost.
If the value for Admin Path Cost = 0, the value for Calculated Path Cost is calculated
automatically. The calculation of the path costs is largely based on the transmission
speed.
The higher the achievable transmission speed is, the lower the value for Admin Path Cost
should be.
Typical values for path costs with spanning tree:
–
1000 Mbps = 4
–
100 Mbps = 19
–
10 Mbps = 100
Typical values for path costs with rapid spanning tree:
–
1000 Mbps = 20,000
–
100 Mbps = 200,000
–
10 Mbps = 2,000,000
