Wiring Examples
Connecting the External Power Supply
To connect an external power supply for the PoE ports, do the following:
CAUTION!
Electrical hazard – risk of damage to equipment. Only connect the external PoE power supply to the
terminals 5 and 7.
1. Remove the terminal block cover.
2. If a screw-type terminal block is installed, remove the screws from terminals 5 and 7. Use these screws along
with #6 ring lugs to secure the wires to the terminal block.
3. Connect the positive wire from the power source to terminal 5 (+/L) on the terminal block.

4. Connect the negative wire from the power source to terminal 7 (-/N) on the terminal block.
5. If the external PoE power supply features a chassis ground connection, connect the ground terminal on the
power supply to terminal 4 on the terminal block.
DANGER!
Electrocution hazard – risk of death, serious personal injury and/or damage to the device. Make
sure the supplied terminal block cover is always installed before the device is powered.
6. Install the terminal block cover.
