SYSTEM ASSEMBLY
NOTE
Before installing the modules onto the rack,
access to field wiring connections must be
considered.
Refer to Figures 6 (with Voice) and 7 (without
Voice) for the recommended placement of
modules on the rack.
Observe the following conditions when mounting
the modules onto the rack:
1. Modules having cable connections must be
mounted close enough to each other so the
cables will connect. In order to use the fixed
length cables shipped with MXL/MXLV
modules, place the modules on the rack in
the same way that they are mounted in the
MME-3 enclosure. Refer to the MXL/MXV
Manual, P/N 315-092036, for mounting
positions and cable connections.
2. Rear mounted modules must face the inside
of the rack with the smooth side of the plate
facing the back of the rack.
3. The ACM-RK must be mounted below the
MKB-RK.
4. The MOM-RK must be mounted below the
MMB-RK.
5. The MPS-RK must be mounted below the
MOM-RK.
6. The MMB-RK must be mounted directly
behind the ACM-RK.
7. The TSP-RK must be located within 24
inches of the MMB-RK.
8. The VSM-RK must be mounted directly
below the ACM-RK.
Using the CABLES-RK Kit
The CABLES-RK kit (P/N 500-893044) has five
cables for connecting modules. Four of the five
cables replace cables that are shipped with
modules. The remaining cable extends the
length of the MMM-1 cable by plugging into it.
Refer to Figures 2, 6, or 7, and Table 4 for specific
cable use.
WIRING
All wiring must comply with national and
local codes.
In compliance with UL-864, effective May 1,
1995, all power limited fire protective signaling
conductors must be separated a minimum of
1
/
4
inch from all of the following items located within
a control panel:
• electric light
• power
• Class 1 or non-power limited fire protective
signaling conductors
