Network performance

You can optimise network performance in the following ways:

u

Optimize throughput

maximises the data transmission rate in your network and ensures that data traffic
is transmitted immediately.

u

Optimize power saving

optimises power consumption in order to extend standby times for mobile devices
in your network, e.g. notebooks, PDAs and WLAN handsets.

Frequency

The Gigaset SE365 WLAN can work in the 5-GHz or 2.4-GHz frequency band. The 2.4-
GHz frequency band provides for a more extended range. In contrast, the 5-GHz fre-
quency band is less sensitive regarding disturbances.

Channel (only Repeater and Access point operating mode)

The set radio channel is used by all clients in your network for wireless data transfer. You
can choose between various channels, depending on your current location.

In Repeater operating mode, set the channel that uses the access point for which
you wish to increase the range.

Select

Automatic

in Access point operating mode so that the best channel for trans-

mitting the data is used automatically.

Within the 5-GHz frequency band for some channels, the option
