SIEMENS-Relays of version 1/2 and 3 together
with DIGSI V3

One Active Mini-Starcoupler allows the central and remote interrogation
of max. 4 non addressable relays of version 1 or 2 and with further
starcouplers, which are conncted to one Slave-interface, up to 250
addressable relays from version 3 can be in the topology. Each relay of
version 1/2 needs an optical interface. The number of non addressable
relays in a topoloy can be increased, if several Active Mini-Starcouplers
are cascaded with the RS485 bus. The interface parameters of the
Slave-interfaces must be set according the settings for the front –
interface of the relays. The port selection procedure and the operation
with the relays of version 1/2 or 3 is part of DIGSI 3 and comfortable
supported by this program. How do set the parameters for DIGSI V3 is
written in the DIGSI – manual, which is on the DIGSI – installation CD-
ROM as a PDF-file.

In the following application non addressable relays ( V1/2) and
addressable relays (V3) can be centrally interrogated with the max.
baudrate, allowed for the relays serial interface.

The RS232-interface at connection point 7 (RS232/M0 in fig. 5) is set as
Master-interface (port number 0) and realizes the local, central access to
the relays with DIGSI 3. Also the settings of the device are made via this
interface.

The optical interface at connection point 1 (FO/M0 in fig. 5) is connected
with the modem and set as Master-interface. Through this interface runs
the remote interrogation. If the automatic baud rate adaption in the
