The reader requires little maintenance. Below, you will find several useful tips on upkeep and
maintenance.
To ensure optimum performance of the reader, the window of the reader must be clean. The
window is the colorless plastic part in the head of the reader. The reader works with CMOS
technology in much the same way as a digital camera. A dirty window could have the result
that the reader is no longer capable of reading barcodes.
● If the window is dirty, clean it with a soft, non-abrasive cloth or a cosmetic wipe (without
lotion and not impregnated) and a little water.
● You can also use a mild cleansing agent: Then wipe the window with a damp cloth.
Approved cleaning agents
The following products have been approved for cleaning the SIMATIC MV320:
● Wipes soaked in alcohol
● Clorox® disinfecting wipes
● Clorox® bleach solution (10% bleach, 90% tap water)
● Medical DiAirKem
● Sani-Cloth® HB, Super Sani-Cloth® germicidal, Sani-Cloth® Plus germicidal disposable
wipes
● Virex® II disinfectant cleaner
