Closed ground and test device blocking
interlock
A closed ground and test device blocking
interlock is provided to prevent insertion of
a closed ground and test device into a circuit
breaker cell. This interlock is illustrated in
Figure 3: Closed ground and test device
blocking interlock.
Hazardous voltage and high-speed moving parts.
Can cause death, serious injury and property damage.
Do not bypass or defeat interlocks. Do not disassemble interlocks to make
them inoperative.
Check interlock function prior to inserting ground and test device into
switchgear unit. Read this instruction manual before using ground and
test device. Know and understand correct interlock function.

When the ground and test device is closed,
a linkage connected to the ground and test
device main shaft causes a plate to rotate
downward to "mask" the frame interlock
described in the preceding section of this
instruction manual. The masked frame
interlock blocks entry of the closed ground
and test device into any type GM38 circuit
breaker compartment.
