Assembly instructions
MHS400
2. Assembly
2.1 Assembly requirements
General information about assembly
The following description of the assembly process is a recommendation from SIEGENIA and describes the major steps in-
volved. The specific details of the assembly process are determined, amongst other factors, by the lift & slide element used,
by the production process and by the window manufacturer's equipment and facilities.
Preparations for assembly
The MHS400 system must always be installed by an experienced and qualified window specialist, in accordance with the
installation and planning documents issued by SIEGENIA. If you have any questions about installation, please contact the
head of the relevant department at SIEGENIA or your window specialist. Other technical questions should be directed to
SIEGENIA: Tel. +49 271 3931-0
Before commencing assembly work and commissioning involving the MHS400 system, be sure to read the
safety infor-
mation and hazard warnings
on page
11.
Note:
It must be possible to access and disassemble the slide drive SA at all times should maintenance and service work
be required (curtain rods, lamps, ceiling covers, roller shutter housings, etc. must not hinder disassembly); see the information
about the installation situation on page
40.
Tools required
(not included in scope of delivery)
• Drill
• Ø 3 mm, Ø 7 mm and Ø 10 mm plus Ø 15 mm timber or metal drill
• Phillips screwdriver (size 2)
• 1 screwdriver bit 90 mm long
• 2 screw clamps
• Folding rule
• Router (for timber elements)
• Between 2 and 4 assembly racks
• Watch with second hand or stop watch
Recommendation: The fixing plate HA of the lift drive HA can be used to mark the drilled holes for the cable outlet and the
fixing holes on the lift & slide sash (see page 14 and 21). For straightforward and accurate positioning or fixing of the catch
on the lift & slide sash, SIEGENIA recommends using the catch jig MHS400 (accessory).
Materials required
(not included in scope of delivery)
Additional screws for fixing the fixing plate HA (

) to the lift & slide sash (see page
27), as well as for the slide drive SA
(
1
) and the catch (
2
) on the upper sash frame of the lift & slide sash must be provided by the customer (see page 32 and 35):

Note:
All screwing points must be pre-drilled to Ø 3 mm. The length of the fixing screws for PVC elements must be sufficient
to penetrate deep enough into the reinforcing material to ensure a sufficient hold. Materials for lining the slide drive SA (PVC
plates, for example) must be provided by the customer for certain lift & slide profile systems (see Chapter 3).
