Drive shaft heats up or
does not turn smoothly
Upper wheel noisy or
does not turn smoothly

Possible Cause
Lower bearings worn.
If Bandsaw is driven by V-belt, belt
may be too tight.
Pulleys or hubs improperly aligned.
Pulley or hub slips drive shaft.
Needle bearings are dry.
Needle bearings worn.
Feed rate too fast.
Poly V-belt in Mark V headstock is
slipping
If Bandsaw is driven by V-belt, belt may
be slipping
Pulleys or hubs slipping on shafts.
Machine stiff from the cold.
Capacitor on motor defective.
Motor defective.
No power to the motor.
Drive hubs out of alignment.
Tubes out of alignment.
Accessory mount lock interfering.
Solution
Replace lower bearings. Have done by our
Customer Service.
Loosen tension on V-belt.
Re-align pulleys or hubs.
Secure pulley or hub.
Remove upper wheel & grease bearings.
Replace needle bearings. Have done by
our Customer Service.
Warm shop to 55 degrees or above. Make
sue the machine speed setting is at “Slow”.
Re-align tubes.
Loosen accessory mount lock.
Feed stock more slowly.
Increase tension on poly V-belt. See Mark
V instruction manual.
Increase tension on V-belt.
Secure pulleys or drive hubs.
Re-align drive hubs.
Replace capacitor.
Replace or rebuild motor. Have done by
our Customer Service.
Check that motor is plugged in.
