MAINTENANCE
Lubrication
Since all bearings are shielded and permanently
lubricated, simply leave them alone until they
need to be replaced. Do not lubricate them.
For other items on this machine, lubricate the
items shown in
Figure 33-35
. Before applying
lubricant, wipe the area clean.
Your goal is to achieve adequate lubrication.
Too much lubrication will attract dirt and saw-
dust. These parts of your machine could lose
their freedom of movement as a result.
Regular periodic maintenance on your Model
W1689 will ensure its optimum performance.
Make a habit of inspecting your machine each
time you use it.
Check for the following condi-
tions and repair or replace when necessary:
•
Loose mounting bolts.
•
Worn switch.
•
Worn or damaged cords and plugs.
•
Damaged drive belt.
•
Any other condition that could hamper the
safe operation of this machine.
•
Check the entire air system for leaks.
General
Make sure that your
machine is unplugged
during any maintenance
procedures except
where instructed other-
wise! If this warning is
ignored, serious person-
al injury may occur.
