•
Be sure to observe the following cautions at the time of interconnection.
Note No.

Caution
1)
Use flexible armored cables as sensor cables and extension cables, unless these
cables are not at risk for damage.
Allowable
bending
radius
Without armor : 30 mm (1.18 in REF.)
With armor : 50 mm (1.97 in REF.)
Allowable tension :
98.1N (10 kgf REF.)
2)
To insulate the connector, cover it with the supplied shrink tube (insulating
sleeve) or insulating tape.
Take measures to prevent oil or water from entering the insulating sleeve or
tape.
3)
Make sure to fix the terminal cover on the terminal block of the VK driver.
Install the driver in the driver housing and fix the cable securely with a clamp
near the teminal block.
4)
Keep the unshielded portion of cables at connecting parts as short as possible.
(less than 100mm recommended.)
Connect the shielded wires to the COM terminal.
5)
Use a 3-core shielded cable with AWG No. 14 to No. 18 gage stranded
conductors for wiring between the VK driver and the safety barrier, and
between the safety barrier and the monitor (max. length 500 m (max. length
1,640ft REF.) [Cw
≤
0.134µF, Lw
≤
0.71mH]).
In the case of other Intrinsic Safety, refer to an Instruction Manual of each
Transducer.
In the case of other Intrinsic Safety, refer to an Instruction Manual of each
Transducer.
Keep wiring away from power and control lines to prevent noise interference.
6)
Install the safety barrier in the enclosure.
•
Make sure to turn the power off before wiring work to prevent accidents due to
electric shock.
• If wired according to this drawing, the resistance of the safety barrier causes the
input voltage of the monitor to drop by about 1%.
