The screen cover is closed.
The following case functions if
Critical Battery Suspend
is set to
Enabled
in the
Power
menu of the Setup Utility.
•
The battery level is low (always suspended to disk).
Resuming from Suspend-to-RAM mode
Your computer resumes from the suspend-to-RAM mode in each of the following
cases:
•
You press any key.
•
The screen cover is opened.
•
The built-in modem receives a call if
Resume On Modem Ring
in the
Power
menu
of the Setup Utility is set to
Enabled
(the built-in modem may not be available in
some countries).
•
You slide the power switch when the item
Power Switch Function
is set as
Suspend/Resume
in the Setup Utility.
Resuming from Suspend-to-Disk mode
Your computer resumes from the suspend-to-disk mode by sliding the power switch.
The system restores the exact state as it was when entering the suspend mode. If the
computer enters the suspend mode due to low battery power, however, you have to
connect the computer to AC power first. Suspend to Disk is useful when you want to
turn off the computer and reopen the same windows after turning it on.
•
If your battery becomes completely discharged during Suspend to
RAM, you will lose unsaved data and will need to reboot your
computer. Therefore, if you are planning to leave your computer
suspended for long periods of time, we recommend Suspend to Disk.
•
When the system enters or resumes from the suspend-to-disk mode, you
can see some flicker on the display. This is not a malfunction.
•
If sufficient battery power does not remain, your computer will not
resume from the suspend-to-disk mode. To resume it from the suspend-
to-disk mode, connect the computer to AC power.
•
If a PC card does not work properly after your computer resumes from
the Suspend to Disk, restart the computer
.
