SPEAKER SETUP setting
SPEAKER .... sets the speaker system to listen to Dolby Digital, or simulated
surround sound.
DELAY ......... sets delay time of the sound from each side and from front and
back so that the sound is perfectly in phase when it reaches you.
Setting the SPEAKER
Using 6 Speakers
•
Set the “SPEAKER” setting to “5.1ch” to listen to DTS,
Dolby Digital, MPEG Audio or simulated surround
sound.
Using 5 Speakers
•
Set the “SPEAKER” setting to “5ch” to listen to Dolby
Digital or simulated surround sound from 5 speakers.
No sound comes from the subwoofer.
•
When you want to listen using only 5 speakers, you
should use large speakers (commercially available) as
the front speakers so that they cover the sound field of
the subwoofer. This will give more effective surround
sound.
Using 2 Speakers
•
Set the “SPEAKER” setting to “2ch” when connecting
to the audio input jacks on a stereo TV or to audio
equipment that uses 2 speakers.
•
For a monaural TV, use the “2ch” setting.
Making a digital connection
•
When you are making a digital connection to an AV
device with a digital input jack, specify “2ch” as the
“SPEAKER” setting in “SPEAKER SETUP” screen.
•
See pages 25, 27 for information on how to make
digital connections with an optical digital cable.
