Note:
If only minor adjustments to convergence are
needed, the jig screen is not necessary. Use
digital data stored in memory and one color as a
reference (red, green, or blue). DO NOT CLEAR
DATA and WRITE to ROM memory.
2.12.1 Raster position adjustment
Adjustment preparation
(1) Position adjustment - This will move an entire
color. Use this adjustment to match colors at the
center of the screen. (Active video center from
external signal and physical screen center
should now match from phase adj. 2.2.).
(2) Use the buttons below to switch color to adjust.
ÒdisplayÓ - Green
Ò0Ó - Red
ÒINPUTÓ - Blue
Adjustment procedure
(1) Press the freez button. Extra horizontal lines
appear to confirm raster position mode.
(2) Use the cursor to adjust position.
(3) Press freeze again to exit raster position mode.
Notes:
(1) Other functions cannot be accessed when
in raster position adjustment mode. Press
freeze and confirm extra horizontal lines
disappear to exit raster position mode.
(2) Press menu to switch between all colors
displayed or adjustment color and Green
only.
2.12.2 Convergence point adjustment
Adjustment preparation
(1) Select color to adjust.
ÒdisplayÓ - Green
Ò0Ó - Red
ÒINPUT - Blue
(2) Use 4, 6, 2, and 5 to move the cursor position
(dotted lines).
(3) Use cursor move the convergence point.
(4) Three adjustment modes are available:
1.
Press ÒDISPLAYÓ 5 times (only when
Digital convergence unit is replaced).
2.
(7x5) Press Ò0Ó 5 times
3.
(13x9) Press ÒINPUTÓ 5 times
For touch-up, only the (13x9) mode is necessary.
This will adjust every cross-hatch intersection point
on the screen.
For complete adjustment, start with (7x5) mode, and
finally (13x9) mode to finish convergence.
If ÒSÓ distortion appears between cross-hatch lines
repeat (7x5) mode to change calculation process
while adjusting to remove distortion, then return to
(13x9) mode to finish touch-up convergence.
Adjustment procedure
(1) Receive any NTSC signal. (Set in Progressive
mode).
(2) contrast: middle of range to avoid PRT burn.
(3) Turn TV set on.
(4) Push the “SERVICE ONLY” switch on the
DEFLECTION P.W.B. then digital convergence
is set to the adjustment mode.
(5) Adjustment points are 117 points. (H : 13 points
x V: 9 points). ADJ. point can be moved using
(2), (4), (5), (6) keys of remote control. For
better result, adjust convergence starting at
center and working toward edges of the screen.
(6) RED CONVERGENCE ADJ. Press (0) key on
R/C. Just then red convergence mode is set.
Adjust each red line to green cross-hatch line,
using
G
,
H
,
F
,
E
(cursor) keys.
(7) Blue convergence adj. Press (INPUT) key on
R/C. Just then blue convergence mode is set.
(8) Green convergence adj. Press (DISPLAY) key
on R/C. Just then green convergence mode is
set.
(9) Calculation. When convergence adjustment is
finished, press (RED) color key on R/C. Then
the calculation mode starts. The operation time
is about 2 seconds and no picture appears
during this operation. This operation fills
convergence data between each adjustment
point. If you find convergence shifted more than
1mm, adjust convergence again.
(10) Write data to ROM. Press (MOVE)* key on R/C.
First press: “ROM WRITE”? is displayed for
alarm.
2nd press: Data starts to write to ROM, it takes
about 4 seconds and no picture appears during
this operation. When green dot patter appears,
writing operation is OK. If writing operation is
OK, press any key to return to the adjustment
mode. When red dot pattern appears writing
operation is NG. If writing operation is NG,
replace digital convergence unit and readjust.
Push the “SERVICE ONLY” switch again to
finish the adjustment.
(11) Receive any HD signal. (Set is in HD mode.)
(12) Repeat above steps (4)~(11) again.
