Check the Alarm condition with a test: on real scale, if possible; simulated
according to the indications on page 36 or using the test optical filter STF4,
available on request.
Check the fault condition for interruption by doing the test as explained on page
40.
The control unit does not require its own specific maintenance; during detector
maintenance make sure of the proper working of the keyboard and the
correspondence of the messages on the menu as well as the correct working of
the repeater LEDs.
9.3 ADDITIONAL CHECKS
REQUEST FOR MAINTENANCE (LOW SIGNAL)
If the infrared carrier emitted by the detector tends to fall over time with
respect to the initially set intensity, the system will provide for a proportional
adjustment constantly over time for a long period. If the infrared signal falls to
reach the pre-set threshold, due to an accumulation of dust or settling of the
structure on which the detector is affixed, an optical flashing green LED signal
occurs with consequent opening of the fault contact to send to the signal centre
a maintenance request.
ALARM
A red LED signal on the detector indicates the start of a fire without enabling
the output. After the analysis time has passed, typically 16 seconds, the red LED
starts flashing and the output is enabled to signal alarm confirmation. The alarm
indication is shown both on the display and by the red LED on the control unit
until there is a reset.
RESET
With an alarm recorded, the detector reset provides for electrical de-activation
for at least a couple of seconds, or it is possible to do so by means of the control
unit menu, or by means of the MRS reset module.
