2. PREPARATIONS
2.1 Tools and other equipment
No special tools are necessary to install and calibrate the equipment.
2.2 Flow conditions
The volume of the standard LaserExact cell is 875 ml. The flow of the target gas will
determine the measurement time. The complete cell volume needs to be replaced by
“new” gas before a new reasonable measurement point is logged.
2.3 Cell Materials
A list of the standard cell materials is given below. As these materials are exposed to
the gas mix; therefore, it should be verified that the gas does not adversely affect any
of them. Other cell materials may be available on request (contact SERVOMEX).

Stainless steel, type AISI 316L
•
BK7 mirrors coated with Au and SiO (optional MgF2 overcoat). NB: The Au is
protected but the BK7 is exposed to the gas.
•
Sapphire window (for beam entrance)
•
O-rings, Viton (other materials on request)
2.4 Cables and electrical connections
There are no constraints on the length of the optional optical fibre, but the user
should verify that the cable length for the 4-20 mA analogue current output from the
cabinet unit does not influence the measurements (due to inductance etc.). The
Service PC cable is 3 metres long, but can be extended to approximately 10 metres.
If electrical connections have to be made at installation, refer to Chapter 6 for details.

Ensure that the electrical installation of the Laser monitor conforms to
all applicable local and national electrical safety requirements.

Wiring to or from this device, which enters or leaves the system
enclosure, must utilize wiring methods suitable for Class 1, Division 2
and/or Zone 2 Hazardous Locations, as appropriate for the
installation.
