Removing the water pump and shift
rod
1. Remove the water pump housing

and
impeller

2. Remove the Woodruff key
3

3. Remove the outer plate cartridge
4

4. Set the gear shift to the neutral position,
and then remove the shift rod assembly

.
Checking the water pump and shift
rod
1. Check the water pump housing. Replace
if there is deformation.
2. Check the impeller and insert cartridge.
Replace if cracked or worn.
3. Check the Woodruff key
1
and the
groove
a
on the drive shaft. Replace if
worn.
4. Check the shift rod. Replace if cracked or
worn.
