13 Changing the battery
13.1 Ordering a battery-replacement kit
Used batteries can be replaced. You will need a special battery replacement kit, which is
available from SebaKMT.
Compare the first 8 digits of the type key on the logger's nameplate with the information
in the following tables. Select the appropriate battery-replacement kit and state the item
number when ordering.
Battery-replacement kits for devices with internal GSM modem:

Each replacement kit contains new O-ring seals for the logger housing and the logger lid
in addition to the batteries. Replacing the seals in the course of the battery change is
mandatory.Otherwise, the tightness of the device is compromised.
13.2 Conduct the replacement
Stored measurement data may get lost due to the battery change. Therefore, it is
recommended to read and save the logger's measurement data to the computer prior to
the battery replacement.
To conduct the battery change, proceed as follows.
NOTE
Please be careful not to damage any parts. Don't use any force.
Step Description
1 The device needs to be turned off.
2 Loosen the six screws of the device.
3 Loosen and remove the lid of the device. Do not use any tools as an aid, even
not if the lid seems to be stuck.
Result: Inside the device you have access to the batteries.
