Procedure for clamping and changing tools

Risk of damage to the tool holder when clamping tools

Observe permissible shaft forms, clamping depths and ambient
conditions.

Risk of damage to the tool holder
•
Do not open the vent screw.
The following steps must be observed when clamping tools:
•
Clean all surfaces of the tool holder that encounter the tool.
•
Ensure that the tool shank is free of burrs and dirt.
•
Insert the tool into the tool holder, observing the minimum clamping depth according to
the technical data.
•
Screw in the clamping screw as far as it will go, observe the actuating torques specified in
the technical data section.
When changing tools, the following key points must be observed:
•
Clean and loosen the clamping screw until the tool can be removed from the clamping
bore.
•
Attention: Clamping screw not secured against falling out.
•
Remove tool and clean clamping area.
The tool can then be clamped as described.
