Connection to Tractor
Before Operation
IMPORTANT: THE GEARBOX IS SHIPPED DRY. FILL WITH GEAR OIL BEFORE OPERATING .
Refer to the ‘Maintenance’ section of this manual for recommended oil type and viscosity.
Lubricate all grease fittings. Refer to the grease schedule in this manual.
Remove the chain case cover and check that the drive chain is properly tensioned and lubricated.
Refer to the ‘Maintenance’ section of this manual.
Check that all nuts and bolts are in place and properly tightened. Refer to the ‘Maintenance’
section of this manual for proper bolt grades and torques.
Check tire inflation pressure. Tires should be inflated to 45 PSI. Higher pressures may cause
excessive bouncing over rough ground.
Gearbox output driveline should be installed with the shear bolt torque limiter at the gearbox.
Castor Wheel Adjustment
There are six washers on each castor wheel assem-
bly. To adjust the height of the castors move the
washers to the top or bottom of the castor wheel
depending on what height is needed.
The windrower can attach to tractor’s with either a CAT
I or II hitch, and CAT I or II quick hitch. The windrower
comes with CAT I pins, with bushings for CAT II. For
CAT I 3-pt, CAT II 3-pt, and CAT II quick hitch, mount
the pins outward. For CAT I quick hitch, mount the
pins inward. Refer to the tractor operator’s manual for
the category of the tractor used. If the hitch does not
conform to ASAE Cat I or II dimensions, the implement
may not fit or raise properly. Consult an authorized
dealer for possible modification procedures to mount
nonconforming hitches.
Use the correct hitch pins for the hitch category being
used. For a Cat I hitch, 7/8” lower and 3/4” upper
diameter hitch pins are used and Cat II hitches require
1-1/8” lower and 1” upper diameter hitch pins.
