To set the deck pitch, first block the front of the
cutter under the skids. Lower the cutter until; the
tension is removed from the tension links and the
adjustment lugs can be moved easily. Before
making any adjustments, ensure the tractor is in
park, the engine is shut off and the ignition key is
removed.
6.3 Setting Deck Pitch
Pan Units:
Mower should be operated with the deck
approximately 3/4” HIGHER IN THE FRONT THAN
THE REAR. Operating the mower at this pitch will
allow the mower to cut the grass twice and can
result in a more even cut and improved distribution
of the cut material.
Fixed Knife Units:
Mower should be operated with the deck
approximately level to 3/4” LOWER IN THE FRONT
THAN IN THE REAR. Operating the mower at this
pitch will allow the mower to more evenly distribute
the cut material when the unit is equipped with fixed
knives and shrouding.
IMPORTANT:
Adjust the leveling rods the same amount and
maintain equal tension in the rods. Improper
adjustment may cause rods to snap or bend.
Retighten the jamnuts after the deck pitch has been
