3.5 Suction Pads
Danger
Danger
The suction pads are designed to lift various items. Only workpieces with a flat, air-
tight surface may be turned with this device.
To generate vacuum, all suction pads must be in contact with and attached to the
load (exception: devices with switchable suction pads).
Individual suction pads can be activated or deactivated with the aid of valves
on lifting devices with the special feature.
Deactivating suction pads reduces the load carrying capacity of the device.
Deactivate suction pads which do not attach themselves to the load, since no
vacuum can be generated if this is not done.
Activate or deactivate the suction pads only when no load is attached.
Attempting to activate or deactivate the suction pads with a load attached will cause
the vacuum to break down and the load will be dropped.

Installation
4.1 Initiation
The device must be installed and maintained by qualified personnel, mechanics
and electricians. Any work on the electrical equipment may be carried out only by a
qualified electrician.
The vacuum turning bench
must
be securely anchored at its installation location.
Securing holes are provided in the stands for this purpose.
Connect the compressed-air supply for the solenoid valve
(filtered (max. 40
m) compressed air, with or without oil).
Check the Rotation
Direction
(Three-phase Motor)
Caution
Switch the pump on.
Watch the fan blade of the motor. It must turn in the direction of the arrow on
the motor housing.
The unit is designed for use with a three-phase supply with clockwise field. If
the fan turns in the wrong direction, switch the unit off immediately and swap two
phase connections.
Check again.
This may be done only by a trained electrician.
Damage to the device resulting from rotation in the wrong direction is not covered
by the warranty.
4.2 Adjusting the
Suction Pads
The suction pads are adjustable. To alter the adjustments, unscrew the star-grip
handles on the glide shoes by one turn. Adjust the suction pads to the desired
position and retighten the star-grip handle.
4.3 Activating and
Deactivating
Suction Pads
(optional)
Danger
Individual suction pads can be activated or deactivated with the aid of valves on
lifting devices with the appropriate feature. These valves are located either on the
suction pads or on the vacuum distributor.
Deactivating suction pads reduces the load carrying capacity of the device.
Deactivate suction pads which are not in contact with the load. Otherwise, no
vacuum can be generated.
Active or deactivate the suction pads only when no load is attached. Attempting to
activate or deactivate suction pads when a load is attached will cause the vacuum
to break down and the load will be dropped.
Then check the vacuum connections (hoses).
