Chapter 3

Setting Up the RoadMAPS Unit

This section provides basic instructions for setting up the
RoadMAPS unit so it can be used to perform mobile meter reading
and exchange information with the host computer.

Schlumberger recommends that you insert the PC memory card
into the laptop before you place the unit in the vehicle.

Removing Carrying Case Cover

To set up the RoadMAPS Unit in a vehicle, you must remove the
top cover by opening four latches on the cover.

For safety purposes and to prevent damage to the cover, make sure the cover is securely
stored in the back seat or elsewhere in the vehicle.
