3 Intended use
•
FRED easyport TRAINER is a simple cost-effective simulator of the FRED easyport that is
designed to be used exclusively for training.
•
In no event FRED easyport TRAINER may be used as a conventional defibrillator. It
should not be connected to a patient.
It does not deliver any energy.
•
FRED easyport TRAINER should only be used on a mannequin with specific training
electrodes.
• FRED easyport TRAINER has been designed for the purpose of training users of SCHILLER's
FRED easyport automated defibrillator. The device provides several simulations or scenarios
(from 0 to 8) that aim to help to familiarise with the FRED easyport and shows that the users
have the knowledge required to use it in case of emergency. The device also allows the trainer
to work using an infrared remote control to select a scenario or to intervene in real time on the
course of an intervention.
4 Characteristics
•
FRED easyport TRAINER allows the simulated delivery of electric shocks. There is no high
voltage in the device, and training is risk free.
•
FRED easyport TRAINER may be used on all types of mannequins as it does not deliver an
electric shock. It may only be used with the training electrodes sold by Schiller.
•
FRED easyport TRAINER may be used with an infrared remote control. The remote control
allows the trainer to control the training actions.
• FRED easyport TRAINER has 9 pre-recorded training scenarios which simulate realistic
cardiac arrest configurations.
The basic equipment of the FRED easy TRAINER consists of :
• The device FRED easyport TRAINER shipped with one 9 Volts alkaline battery

The remote control RC-7 shipped with two 1,5 Volts alkaline batteries
•
Single use training electrodes
•
The reusable connecting cable for training. The connector of the cable is fitted with a
magnet allowing the device to recognise the presence of the electrodes without any
electrical connection.
