Programming Information

3.5

The following subsections contain information on programming the 4430-V/
VN registers. Example calculations are included at the bottom of each register
deﬁnition page.

The example calculations within this report are based on the following 4430 ex-
ample setup:

Board Type = 4430-VN

➢

Demod fc = 8000 Hz

➢

Demod PCM = NRZ

➢

Demod DR = 1000 bps

➢

Demod Source = Ch. 1

➢

Demod Input = BPSK

➢

Eb/No = 8dB

➢

Tracking Range = 8Hz

➢

Modulator Select = YES

➢

Mod Format = QPSK

➢

Mod QPSK Input = Separate

➢

Mod fc = 8000 Hz

➢

Mod PCM = NRZ

➢

Mod DR = 1000

This setup assumes a demodulator with optional modulator setup.

Note:

All of the register definition pages that follow refer to

the register offset address with the physical offset address in
parenthesis.

Register 08h (11h), Demod Carrier Freq NCO - Synchronous Mode Contro

This register provides synchronous mode control of the demodulator Carrier
Frequency NCO.

Figure 3.5.1

illustrates the breakout of register bit assign-

ments.

Prior to programming the NCO, the synchronous mode must be enabled.
