Tuning pulse steering
With pulse steering, the Side-Shift cylinder is
steered in small increments (lateral displacement)
and the accuracy of the steering can be changed
in the tuning screen (Figure 55). With
Pulse
length
the step size of one steer action of the
cylinder is set. The
pulse distance
is the distance
that must be covered before the next steer action
is performed.
The Side-Shift steering can also be set by altering
the oil flow through the manifold. The pulse length
must be greater if the device drifts and if the
tractor is controlled less straight manually. If the
tractor drives relatively straight by itself and the
device does not drift, a smaller pulse length is
required.
In the last step of the calibration wizard the
steering type (pulse or proportional) is displayed
(Figure 56). Only a SBG dealer can change
between pulse and proportional steering. Besides
that it is possible to set the
Max error
of the
cylinder. This is the distance range from the
current track wherein the cylinder is allowed to
steer. Outside this range from the current track the
cylinder stops steering.
Offsets
The offsets in SBGuidance Side-Shift are adjusted
in the same way as the offsets in SBGuidance
Auto (see chapter 5.1.1).
