Fader
You can give your recording a professional look by using special effects such as fade in at the beginning of a
sequence or fade out at the end of a sequence.

Fade in
Press the
Recording start/stop
button when
“Fader”
is set to
“On.”
Recording starts with a dark screen and then the image and sound are
faded in.
Fade out
Press the
Recording start/stop
button.
Recording stops as the image and sound are faded out.
This function will work only in Movie record mode, and only works once.
Face Detect
This function automatically adjusts face focus and exposure even in backlight or dark settings for clearer recordings.

Records under the optimal condition by detecting faces automatically.
• During recording, the subject’s face captured via the lens is automatically recognized and Face Detect ( ) appears
on the LCD screen.
• A face-like subject may display the Face Detect ( ) indicator, even though it’s not an actual person’s face.
• The Face Detect indicator on the display is not recorded.
