Using the Disk Drives 45

Using the Disk Drives

To use the Floppy drive or the CD-ROM drive you must verify it is installed in the flex-
bay slot. To swap devices see “Using the Flex-Bay” on page 42.

Using the Floppy Disk Drive (Option)

To use a floppy disk in your computer, insert it into the floppy drive.

To remove a floppy disk, press the floppy disk eject button on the front of the floppy
drive.
To protect the data on your floppy disks, follow the manufacturers guidelines.

Using the CD-ROM Drive (Option)

Compact discs are designed so that you can easily insert one into the computer when
you need it, and then remove it.

You have to install the CD Writer software provided on a separate CD to write
a CD. For more information, read the manual included in the CD.

You have to install the DVD software provided on a separate CD to view a
DVD title.
