Using your Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet
text-to-speech and annotation features. The app also reads ePubs files, but (at
time of writing) this feature did not seem to work very well.
Mantano Reader (free, NZ$5 or NZ$11.62)
The Mantano Reader is a good reader for epub and PDF files. If you simply want to
read and annotate PDF files by highlighting text (rather than drawing or writing
notes) then you may like the Mantano Reader. You can “turn pages” while in the
“highlight text” mode. A nice touch is the ability to swipe up/down on the left
border to increase/decrease the screen brightness. Links within documents work,
as do links to external web sites. A drawback is that the annotations you make
cannot be read by other PDF readers.
Your documents can be organised into collections, and you can also add tags to
the files. These “library management” features let you filter and sort your files.

Verdict: worth paying for if you use it to read ePub formatted books as well.
Summary
The Adobe Reader is a good, basic, (and free!) PDF reader, but lacks advanced
features such as night-mode and text-to-speech. The RepliGo Reader is highly
recommended; it has all the advanced features you need, and opens large files
quickly. Try the free version of the Mantano Reader and purchase the Premium
version if you like its interface and features.
